I attended the Craig Morgan concert last Friday night in Ponchatoula at Rockin’ Willy’s and I got say Craig Morgan hasn’t lost a step. He started with, “Little Bit of Life,” and the crowd went nuts. He played most of all his older hits (except for “Love Remembers”) and some of his new stuff as well.
The concert sold-out at about 10PM so there were some people that were turned away. Rockin’ Willy’s is smaller version of the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville. It’s a double decker so there’s not a bad place in the building to watch the show. I had a chance to talk to Craig backstage and wished him the best of luck on stage and I wanted to tell him that we’re all praying for his family. Last July, Craig lost his son to a boating accident. He had just graduated and was set to start his life when heaven called his number. I can’t imagine how Craig got through this but he has a strong faith.
Craig Morgan is one of those singers that his songs not only tell a story but a story that people can relate to and that makes him one of my all-time favorites. He’s had 17 songs that charted on the national charts and of those 6 have reached the Top 10 and 3 of them hit #1 including,”That’s What I Love About Sunday,” which stayed #1 for 4 weeks.
