“Zippity Zoo Fest is one event that’s particularly near and dear to the Zoo,” said Phil Frost, Zoo Director. “Not only does it provide the perfect atmosphere for children and their parents to shake off their cabin fever, but it allows all of us to celebrate the many years of connecting people with wildlife and wild places since the Zoo opened on Easter Sunday 1970. We were disappointed with the cancellation of Zippity Zoo Fest in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. So, we are beyond thrilled be bringing it back this spring!”
Activities at Zippity Zoo Fest 2020 will include:
- Children’s Area
Princesses and other special characters will be on hand for socially-distanced interactions & photo opportunities near the Zoo’s Capital One Pavilion. - Entertainment Stage
- Located next to our Children’s Area, enjoy the talents of a variety of groups from across the region. All entertainment is free and included in Zoo admission price.
- Ambassador Animal Meet & Greets
You’ll get to meet some of our education department’s animal ambassadors and learn a little about each species from our Education Department.
- Animal Enrichments
Many of our animals will enjoy special enrichments & treats throughout the day. A schedule of these will be provided to guests upon entry. - Photo Contest Winners Gallery

With the support of our partner organizations around the city, the Zoo will be filled with over a dozen activity booths and community organizations showcasing what makes them so special. - Important Note
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and precautions, some of the more popular options at this event, such as inflatables and face painting will not take place this year.
