Ochsner, BRCC Offering No-Cost Patient Care Technician Program!!!

BATON ROUGE – In response to demand for certified patient care technicians and certified nursing assistants, Ochsner Baton Rouge and Baton Rouge Community College have partnered to offer the Ochsner Patient Care Technician Customized Training Program.

This no-cost, eight-week course begins Oct. 25 and is open to all Greater Baton Rouge-area residents at least 18 years old. Course graduates hired by Ochsner are eligible for a $3000 sign-on bonus.

Eligible applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency, successful completion of a drug screen and criminal background check, and the ability to commit to the eight-week program. Classes are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at BRCC.

The Patient Care Technician Program features accelerated classroom instruction and clinical training. It includes certification for patient care technician and nursing assistant.

After successfully completing the program and hiring requirements, all program graduates have an opportunity to interview for full-time patient care technician positions at an Ochsner health center.

Ochsner Health offers a $3000 sign-on bonus for newly hired patient care technicians, starting at a minimum of $12 per hour. The sign-on bonus will be disbursed in installments upon successful completion of the training program and at the time of hiring.
