Don’t forget, September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!
Your East Baton Rouge Parish Library (EBRPL) is joining with the American Library Association (ALA) and public libraries nationwide to make sure that every student has the most important school supply of all – a FREE Library card. Studies show that children who are read to in the home and who use the Library perform better in school, and they can turn to the Library for materials, programs and knowledgeable Library staff to support academic achievement.
This year, Marley Dias, author, executive producer, and founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks is teaming up with the ALA to encourage everyone to get this all access pass to FREE use of online databases and training resources, print books and magazines, e-books and online magazines, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs and BluRay, streaming movies, online homework help, genealogy research, workforce development, Arduino kits, children’s storytimes, meeting rooms, free computer classes, programs and events on all kinds of subjects and so much more!
