Howdy – I’m Jimmy Brooks, your host of “The Jimmy Brooks Experience” weekdays from Noon to 3 on The Tiger! I grew up right up the road in Central, LA, and my radio journey started when I was just 17, back when The Tiger was still Cat Country 100.7. Yeah, I know—I’m an old geezer now!

I kicked things off as a board op, keeping an eye on the station overnight while attending LSU. Soon enough, I moved up to the night slot from 7 PM to midnight, hosting “Cryin’, Lovin’ or Leavin’,” a nightly request and dedication show.

In 2002, I got a call to join an 80’s station launching in Nashville, TN. So, I packed up my car and headed to Music City. But in 2004, home was calling me back, and I returned to 100.7 The Tiger as the midday host. A bit later, I took on the role of Assistant Program Director.

In 2008, I took a break from radio to dive into Project Management at advertising and marketing agencies. But the radio bug never left me, and I came back to The Tiger in 2021, bringing you “The Jimmy Brooks Experience.” And as of October 2023, I fulfilled a lifelong dream to be the Program Director of our awesome station!

I absolutely love south Louisiana and the amazing people here. I do have a slight obsession with bougie candles and cologne—I truly can’t resist! Weekends are for family and friends at False River, and I grab every chance I get to travel. Just don’t expect me to drive—I’m all about catching flights, not road trips! LOL
