Swamp Pop Jambalaya Cookoff June 26th
Cooks Meeting June 15th at 6:30 at JFA Building
If would like to participate in the cookoff but can not make it to the meeting, please contact one of the following:

7 pounds total of pork
3 pounds of sausage
3 pounds of onions
5 pounds of rice
Seasonings: salt, garlic powder, black pepper, red pepper, and hot sauce
Other ingredients: bell pepper, celery, green onions, or fresh garlic
*NO OTHER SEASONING ARE ALLOWED (ETC. SEASONING BLENDS, MSG, or COLOR ENHANCERS)
Entry will be $150. ALL INGREDIENTS PROVIDED. EXCEPT WATER.
All cooks must provide all cooking equipment. Propane only.
You will be given a hinged plate with double ticket on bottom. You are to remove your half of the ticket. You will then fill your sample plate with just rice, no meat. You are responsible for your ticket.
Each cook must cook their own jambalaya.
Seasoning will be provided. You will receive your seasoning day of contest. Do not have any seasoning that is not provided by the contest in your possession. You are only allowed to use seasoning that is provided.
Ingredients will be handed out at 6:30 am. Light fires at 7:00 am. Fires off at 10:00. Your sample must be ready to turn in 10:15. We will announce the Finalist after judging is done. Finals start at 1:00 pm. Fires off at 4:00. Turn in at 4:15. Winners announced 5 pm tentatively.
